Zac picked me up at 8 so that we'd be at the airport about 8:30. We knew his plane left SLC at 11:15 going to Chicago but we had no idea what time the mtc bus would drop off the missionaries or what airline. We got there and found that there were two flights going to Chi town at 11:15. One with Delta at terminal 2 and one with American Airlines at terminal 1. We decided to split up so we could keep an eye out in both places. After nearly 2 hours of waiting and seeing quite a few families sending off their missionaries to other training centers, I looked down the hall and saw a group of young men and women wearing plaques headed my way. Sure enough Ronnie was leading the pack. I jumped up, texted Zac to hurry over, and headed his way. Ronnie, who was paying more attention to the missionaries with him then his surroundings finally looked up and saw me. His mouth fell open and he froze for a second then continued walking. A big smile came over his face and he started laughing a little. The first words out of his mouth were, " this isn't alllllooooowwwed." He hugged me and I was so excited I was shaking! I was introduced to the other Elders and that's about the time Zac showed up. We talked with him and hung out as they all checked in, weighed their bags, and headed for security. Ronnie is a real life missionary folks! Legit name tags and everything! :) He was so excited to head to Italy and we were SO excited for him and proud of the things he'll do over there. We got a picture of the three of us, he gave me a last hug, and off he went. We watched as they wound their way through the line at security. Already talking to everyone in line, such a missionary! One last wave, I love you, and he was off! I was SOOOO happy we could be there for that and it was the perfect start to my day. Here's the picture of us that we got, and the one I took to text my parents of Ronnie and his companion Anziano Reed :) Rome is getting an awesome missionary and his willingness to serve the Lord will bring so many blessings to so many people and i'm SO proud to be his big sister! :)
Today's a good day! :)
